StackLyft vs Tradify

Under about four people, Tradify is cheaper and we will say so. The maths turns once most of your crew only needs a phone, because those seats cost $29 rather than a full licence.

Two different meters

Tradify charges a flat rate for every user, whatever that person actually does. The apprentice who only opens the app to see where he is going costs the same as the person writing the quotes. Their published plans are Lite at $48, Pro at $52 and Plus at $62 per user per month ex GST, with an Instant Website 9 a month on top and SMS charged per message. StackLyft is 49 a month ex GST for the platform with your first Full Access user included, then $69 per further Full Access user and $29 per Mobile Only seat.

What it actually costs

Comparing against Tradify Plus, the plan carrying the purchase orders, timesheets and reporting we include as standard, both ex GST: one in the office and two on the tools is 86 with Tradify against $207 with us, so Tradify is cheaper by $21. One in the office and four on the tools is $310 against $265, so we are cheaper by $45. One in the office and nine on the tools is $620 against $410, so we are cheaper by $210. On Tradify's cheaper Lite plan the crossover sits nearer seven people, but Lite has no timesheets, purchase orders or reporting.

What sits on the top plan

On Tradify, purchase orders, reporting and bulk invoicing are on the Plus plan only, and timesheets, recurring jobs and progress invoicing start at Pro. On StackLyft all of those are on every account regardless of size, because there are no tiers to outgrow.

Where Tradify is genuinely better

It is cheaper than us for a one to three person outfit. It is a simple, well-liked app a new apprentice picks up without training, with 4.8 out of 5 from more than 9,000 reviews behind it, and it comes with free one-on-one training when you start. It has full apps on both iOS and Android, and it syncs with MYOB AccountRight and QuickBooks Online as well as Xero, where we only do Xero today.

Where people move to us

Phone-only crew pay $29 a seat instead of a full licence, which is the whole reason the maths turns at about four people. Purchase orders, timesheets and reporting are included rather than sitting on the top plan. There is no plan to outgrow. Small modifications are included, so you can tell us the thing your last system could not do and we change it for you. And Adelaide phone support seven days comes from the people who wrote the code.
