AroFlo alternative for Australian trades.
AroFlo is the deeper product and in several places it flat out beats us: four accounting packages against our one, a field app that keeps working with no signal, live pricing from connected wholesalers like Reece and Rexel, GPS hardware for your vans and tools, and proper Gantt charts, progress claims and retentions for construction work. What you can't do is work the monthly cost out yourself, because their pricing page carries no rate, only a "Request Pricing" button, and their FAQ puts the Smart Start start-up cost at ,450 to begin with and $2,900 with implementation on top. StackLyft is the pick if you want the numbers in front of you first, with no setup fee and no 3 user minimum, bearing in mind Momo our AI assistant is a paid add-on we haven't priced publicly yet; AroFlo is the pick if you're on MYOB, run big builds, or your crew works where there's no reception.
How AroFlo charges
AroFlo does not publish a subscription rate. We pulled their pricing page, which is titled "View Our Prices & Inclusions", and there is no dollar figure on it, just a "Request Pricing" button and a "Get a Free Demo" link, so to find out what you would pay you have to ask them. What they do tell you in their FAQs is the shape of it: they charge per user, monthly billing is based on the number of users who log in during the billing period with a minimum of 3 users, and annual billing lets you lock in a set user count for a discount. They also publish one real number: the start-up cost for Smart Start begins at ,450 AUD, and $2,900 with implementation, on top of the subscription. None of the pages we read say whether their figures are inc or ex GST, so treat that one as unconfirmed either way.
Where AroFlo is genuinely better
Four accounting packages: Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Reckon. We only do Xero. If your bookkeeper is on MYOB and isn't moving, AroFlo is the answer and we're not. The field app genuinely works off the grid. Their FAQ says AroFlo Field lets you create tasks and record labour, materials and expenses with no connection, then sync when you're back in range. Ours is limited, and that's a real gap. Live catalogue pricing from connected wholesalers, Reece, Rexel, Actrol, Haymans, MM Electrical and Lawrence & Hanson among them, and you can send a purchase order straight to Reece Group or Rexel Group from the PO screen. Your apprentice prices materials off the real catalogue instead of a spreadsheet you updated last winter. They actually ship hardware. AroPoint supplies GPS units, hard-wired AK11 trackers, RFID fobs for driver ID and IoT tags for tools and plant, with geofenced alerts when something moves. We don't sell hardware at all. Proper construction project tools: Gantt charts with dependencies and milestones, multi-stage projects, stage-by-stage profitability, progress claims and retentions. If you're running builds rather than service calls, that's a real gap between us. Scale and history. Founded by an Australian electrician after a back injury, run out of Melbourne's east, used by more than 28,000 trade professionals across 2,800+ businesses on AroFlo's own numbers, and now part of the Simpro Group alongside Simpro, BigChange and ClockShark. We're new and we don't have that record yet.
Where people move to us
Our rates are on the website. 49/month ex GST covers the platform and your first Full Access user, then $69 per extra Full Access user and $29 per Mobile Only user, dropping to $23 from seat 21. You can work out your bill before you speak to anyone. The one thing not in those numbers is Momo, our AI assistant, which is a paid add-on per Full Access user and doesn't have a public price yet. No setup fee and no minimum seat count. Month to month, no lock-in, and a 14 day trial with no credit card. One plan. Quoting, jobs, scheduling and dispatch, invoicing, purchase orders, subcontractor work orders, job costing, retentions, timesheets and margin and win rate reporting are on every account from day one, with no tiers and nothing locked behind a bigger plan. We won't tell you there are no add-ons, because there is one: Momo, our AI assistant, is charged per Full Access user and we haven't set its price publicly yet. The $29 Mobile Only seat means the blokes who only ever need the day's schedule, a JSA and somewhere to log hours and photos don't cost you a full CRM licence. The field side is standard, not a separate module: GPS clock on, JSAs and safety forms, photo capture from the phone, and timesheets that feed job costing. Support is the people who built it, on the phone, seven days, 7am to 9pm ACST, out of Adelaide. Not a ticket queue.
Who AroFlo actually suits
Established outfits with a fleet, a store of stock and real project work: builders running multi-stage jobs with progress claims and retentions, facilities and maintenance contractors servicing client asset registers, and anyone whose techs work in basements and plant rooms with no bars on the phone. If you're on MYOB, QuickBooks or Reckon, or you want your apprentice pricing off a live Reece or Rexel catalogue, AroFlo does things we simply don't. Bring a budget for the start-up cost, and expect to request pricing before you see a rate.
Who StackLyft actually suits
Trade businesses that want the whole job in one place and want to know the bill before they commit: quote, schedule, materials, timesheets and site photos, with invoices building off the finished job and landing in Xero. You're on Xero, your crew has coverage most days, and you don't need Zapier or an API to make it work. The rates are published ex GST, with Momo our AI assistant the one paid add-on we haven't put a public price on yet, and if it doesn't suit you can walk at the end of the month.
What sits behind a higher plan or costs extra
Onboarding is a separate one-off charge, not part of the subscription. Their FAQ puts Smart Start at ,450 AUD to start, and $2,900 with implementation. AroPoint GPS is physical kit you buy on top of the software: supplied tracking units, hard-wired AK11 trackers, RFID driver fobs for driver ID, and IoT tags for tools and plant. Their FAQ says building templates and documents for you can be chargeable: "we do offer some paid work. If you have a challenge or request ask us!" Not stated either way: Lightning, their AI layer with JustAsk, JobReady, JobScribe and JobBrief, carries no price on its page and is not in the AroFlo Premium inclusions on the pricing page. The page does have an "Upgrade Now" button on it. Whether it costs extra is something you would have to ask them.
Questions
How much does AroFlo cost per month?
They don't publish it. AroFlo's pricing page is titled "View Our Prices & Inclusions", but when we pulled the page there wasn't a dollar figure on it, just a "Request Pricing" button. Their FAQs confirm they charge per user, that monthly billing is based on how many users log in during the billing period with a minimum of 3 users, and that annual billing gets you a discount for committing to a set user count. We're not going to guess a number for you, because any figure you find on a review site is somebody else's deal from some other year.
Does AroFlo have a setup fee?
Yes, and it's the one price we found published on their site. Their FAQ says the start-up cost for Smart Start begins at ,450 AUD, and $2,900 with implementation. That's a one-off on top of your monthly subscription, and it buys you data imports, your accounting package hooked up and a training program with a dedicated trainer. Whether that's money well spent depends on how messy your current setup is. StackLyft has no setup fee, which cuts both ways: you also don't get a trainer walking you through it.
Does AroFlo work offline?
Partly, and they're honest about it. Their FAQ answer starts with "Not really", because it's cloud software that wants a steady connection, but AroFlo Field does have an offline mode that lets you create tasks and record labour, materials and expenses with no internet, then sync when you're back in range. That's more than we do. StackLyft's app is a PWA and offline support is limited, so if your crew is regularly in basements, plant rooms or well out of coverage, AroFlo handles it better than we do.
Does AroFlo integrate with MYOB?
Yes. AroFlo's FAQ and integrations page list Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Reckon, so whichever of the four you're on, you're covered. StackLyft syncs two ways with Xero and nothing else. There's no MYOB and no QuickBooks, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. If moving your bookkeeper off MYOB isn't happening, AroFlo is the better fit and you should go with it.
Is AroFlo good for a small trade business?
It can be, but their own pages point smaller operators elsewhere. On their comparison against Tradify, AroFlo says "AroFlo is built for trade businesses with bigger goals" and calls Tradify "a strong option for sole traders and small trade businesses looking for easy-to-use job management software". Between the 3 user minimum on monthly billing and a start-up cost beginning at ,450, a one or two person outfit is wearing a fair bit before the first job is even quoted. If you're a small crew that wants stock control across vans, live supplier catalogues and asset servicing, it's still worth the call. If you just want quoting, scheduling and invoicing sorted by knock-off, it's more than you need.
